Authorized sign manufacturers must comply with current MUTCD standards, produce signs meeting all reflective sheeting and material requirements, and demonstrate experience with municipal wayfinding systems of similar scale. Manufacturers meeting these standards are permitted to fabricate the sign panels. Iowa Prison Industries (IPI) is considered an approved supplier for this project if all requirements of the specifications are met. The scope includes all work needed for the manufacturing and installation materials and labor for the implementation of Clinton's new Wayfinding system. There are 56 new Wayfinding signs to be installed: 23 vehicular guide signs (4" to 6"), 21 trailblazer signs (4" and 6"), 1 6" welcome ID sign, 3 new large municipal signs, 5 pedestrian kiosks, and 3 parking-related signs. The contractor is also responsible for removal of existing signs as indicated in the Sign Message Schedule and included as a demolition allowance. Sign installation includes all excavation, concrete foundation work, furnishing and installing posts anchored to those foundations, and installing signs on either new or existing post systems. The contractor must also remove existing signs as identified. Each bidder must complete and submit the experience questionnaire.
