Imlay City Community Schools is seeking proposals from qualified landscaping contractors to provide mowing and lawn care services for multiple district facilities. The scope includes routine mowing of turf areas, trimming around buildings, fences, signs, and obstacles, edging of sidewalks and curbs, blowing grass clippings from sidewalks, parking lots, and paved areas, maintenance of parking lot landscape islands, and removal of grass clippings from athletic areas and walkways. Service must be provided on a regular weekly schedule during the growing season, typically April through October. Contractors must provide two annual applications of broadleaf herbicide and may use spot applications of glyphosate where needed. Contractors must hold appropriate licensing for herbicide application in Michigan and provide proof. Insurance requirements include commercial general liability, automobile liability, workers’ compensation, and employer’s liability as specified. Contractors are required to attend a mandatory pre-bid site walkthrough. Equipment requirements include commercial grade mowers, string trimmers, edgers, blowers, and spray equipment. Performance standards include maintaining turf at specified heights, ensuring no visible clumps of clippings, cleaning all sidewalks and parking areas, and correcting missed areas within 24–48 hours of notification. Work must be coordinated to avoid conflicts with school activities. Bidders must submit company details, experience, references from similar clients, a proposed schedule, cost information, and any additional services offered. Proposals are evaluated by cost, experience, equipment and staffing capability, reliability, and ability to meet district scheduling requirements.
