Renovation of an industrial development in Fox Lake, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a industrial development.
In general, the work consists of the replacement of the existing elevated walkway at the BSI/Vocational Building at the Fox Lake Correctional Institute. The current walkway is a fully exposed concrete slab and beam system approximately 528 feet in length by 12 feet wide, with a concrete stair on either end that will also be replaced. The walkway will be replaced with a new precast slab structure with a concrete topping designed to provide a waterproofed system to protect the precast. A traffic membrane will be added to the top surface to protect the topping. At the lower level, all the roll-up doors will be replaced with new door systems, and all exterior man doors and frames will be replaced at this level. At the upper level, one man door will be replaced and an existing storefront system (about 48 feet in length, including one door) will be replaced. Within the existing storefront, two AC units will be replaced with a new mechanical unit. Existing lighting below the walkway will be removed for construction and replaced with new LED lights. Two radiant heaters in offices behind the storefront will be removed, and a new mechanical split system will replace the existing radiant heaters as a heating source, as well as replace the existing window-mounted air conditioning units. A new ADA ramp will be added to provide acc ess to the upper-level walkway, and a new sidewalk will provide ADA access to the lower level. The existing asphalt at the lower level will be replaced up to the driveway, and the concrete sidewalk at the lower level against the building will be replaced to better accommodate slope and drainage.
