The project consists of the replacement of a 4-inch diameter water main with approximately 450 lineal feet of 6-inch water main by directional drilling. The work will require connection to the existing main, water service line replacement, connections, water main abandonment, surface restoration, and traffic control. Bids will be received for a single prime contract on a unit price basis as indicated in the bid form. Printed copies of the bidding documents may be obtained from Action Reprographics, and partial sets will not be available. Bid security must be furnished according to the instructions to bidders. Bids will be evaluated as provided in the instructions to bidders. Preference is given to products and labor from Iowa as required by state law. The Owner intends to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder who meets the bidding requirements, but reserves the right to waive informalities or irregularities and to reject any or all bids.
