The Washington County Industrial Development Authority (IDA) is accepting bids for bush hogging and landscaping maintenance work in the Washington County Industrial Park. The area to be maintained includes approximately 75 acres for bush hogging, generally to a height of 4-8 inches, and an additional 10 acres requiring more refined maintenance mowing. Bush hogging is expected to be performed 2-3 times during the contract period. Equipment required includes a tractor and a minimum 15-foot batwing mower, all in good working order. Bidders must pick up and properly discard trash before mowing and perform routine weedeating around obstacles and at locations that cannot be mowed. Refined maintenance mowing and debris pick-up is to be performed about every two weeks or as requested and includes mowing along public rights-of-way adjacent to the Park, strips along streets, and along Highway O. Bidders are to provide costs per acre for bush hogging and costs per man-hour for mowing and weedeating. Sealed bids must include proof and photos of equipment, relevant experience within the past five years, and contact information for at least two references if no previous work has been done for the IDA. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder who meets experience and reference requirements. The selected contractor must agree to the terms of the Independent Contractor Agreement and provide a $1 million Certificate of Insurance listing the IDA as Additionally Insured and Hold Harmless. The IDA reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
