The work generally consists of milling and replacing asphalt surface, constructing a new regional trail, replacing water mains, installing new storm sewers, and replacing curbs and pavement. These improvements will take place on various City Streets, specifically Pierce Boulevard, White Pine Ave., Nancy Drive, Longleaf Court, Bristlecone Drive, Walnut Street, Jeffery Pine Court, Ponderosa Ave., Evergreen Drive, Red Pine Ave., Sugar Pine Lane, and English Pine Lane. All bidders must be prequalified with the Illinois Department of Transportation for the relevant classification of work and may have to present a Certificate of Eligibility upon request before bidding or contract award. All work must adhere to the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction by the Illinois Department of Transportation and the edition in effect for Water and Sewer Construction in Illinois. Wages paid must meet or exceed the Illinois Prevailing Wage. Each bid must include a security deposit of at least five percent (5%) of the total bid price in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check. The successful bidder must provide a Performance Bond for the full amount of the bid. No bids will be opened unless the bidder is a bid document holder of record with the official issuing entity. Bids cannot be withdrawn for thirty (30) days after opening. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive informalities or technicalities in the bidding process.
