The Village is seeking a qualified contractor or firm to perform a multi-year valve exercising program and condition assessment. The Village’s water distribution system includes a total of 625 valves, 652 hydrants, and 52 miles of watermain lines. One section (approximately 209 valves) of the water distribution system will be exercised and assessed each year, over three years. All valves shall be exercised and maintained to the standards and recommendations set by the AWWA manual M44. Services to be provided include locating and performing valve exercising, completing an assessment of valve condition, and providing a comprehensive report for each valve exercised or assessed. The report should focus on those needing additional preventative maintenance or repairs. No specific quantity of work or valves is guaranteed under the contract. Instructions to bidders: Bidders must submit one paper copy of their response by the deadline. The response must include a brief introduction with proposer information, project approach demonstrating understanding of the project, philosophy and methods to be used, a detailed outline of tasks, and an anticipated work schedule. Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked accordingly and delivered to the specified address. Faxed or emailed proposals will not be accepted. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered.
