Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Imlay City, Michigan. Working plans call for the construction of a 4,224-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.

Imlay City Community Schools invites qualified contractors to submit sealed proposals for a turnkey pole building construction project. The selected contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permitting, and services necessary to complete the project. The contractor is responsible for obtaining all required permits and complying with all applicable codes. All proposals must be submitted in sealed form and clearly labeled with the project name. Bidders are responsible for reviewing all specifications and attending the mandatory pre-bid meeting. Questions regarding the RFP must be submitted in writing by the deadline. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive irregularities, and the successful contractor must execute a contract with the District before beginning work. Evaluation criteria include total project cost, contractor experience with similar projects, references from previous clients, proposed schedule and ability to meet the project timeline, and compliance with all RFP requirements. Insurance requirements include commercial general liability ($1M per occurrence), workers' compensation as required by Michigan law, and automobile liability ($1M combined single limit), with proof provided before contract execution. Contractors and subcontractors must comply with prevailing wage requirements if required by law or district policy. The building specifications include: - 48' x 88' pole structure with 14' sidewalls - 4 ply 2x6 laminated columns - 24" diameter footings with 10" concrete bottom with tiedowns at columns - Engineered trusses, 4/12 pitch, 4' on center - Metal screw-down roof, metal R-panel siding, one-foot vented overhangs - Interior demising and perimeter walls sheathed with 1/2 inch OSB Additional work includes installation of overhead and pedestrian doors, excavation and site work, interior and exterior concrete work, electrical service (including conduit, lighting, outlets, and code-required signage), and an alternate bid for installation of a second conduit for future use. Formal bid packets must be obtained from Imlay City Schools. Anticipated Board Approval: Monday, April 27, 2026
