The work will consist generally of the construction of approximately 3,261 feet of 8-inch C900 Class 150 PVC water main, 5 8-inch mechanical joint ductile iron gate valves, 7 3-way fire hydrant assemblies, 2 connections to existing water mains, erosion control, and all appurtenances necessary for a complete job. All work on the project must be completed within 180 consecutive calendar days of the date of notice to proceed. Bids must be submitted on Bid Proposal Forms furnished for that purpose in accordance with the Contract Documents and the Plans and Specifications. No bid will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City of Americus prior to the designated time and accompanied by a Bidder's Bond for 10 percent of the amount of the bid. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the bid opening. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to overlook and/or disregard informalities or irregularities in the proposals.
