The work to be performed includes, but is not limited to, earth work, installing concrete pathways, installing pour-in-place rubber surfacing, installing engineered wood fiber, irrigation, underground utilities, and installing prepurchased playground equipment. Such other items or details, not mentioned above, that are required by the Drawings and Technical Specifications Plans, City of Merced Standard Specifications and Typical Details, and the Special Conditions shall be performed, placed, constructed, or installed. Bids are required for the entire work described herein. Instructions to bidders include: Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or Bid Bond in the amount of 10 percent of the total bid price, payable to the City of Merced. The Contractor shall possess a valid A license at the time of submitting bids. The Contractor shall pay the general prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the Director of Industrial Relations (DIR) of the State of California for the locality where the work is to be performed. No contractor or subcontractor may submit a bid, be listed on a bid proposal, or be awarded a contract for public work unless registered with the DIR pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. Contractors' bid submittals shall include fully completed Exhibit "E-PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION CERTIFICATION" as evidence of registration. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR. As a condition of award, the successful bidder shall furnish a payment bond and a performance bond each in the full amount of the contract price, and submit proof of insurance for work involved. The last day to submit questions for the project will be 10 calendar days prior to bid opening. Questions asked by Bidders at the Pre-Bid Conference not specifically addressed within the Contract shall be answered in writing and shall be sent to all Bidders present at the Pre-Bid Conference .
