Renovation of a detention facility in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

The project is for the installation of level 1 bullet resistant glass in the exterior facing residential unit rooms and the C unit living area interior facing residential rooms, as well as in the units’ common areas. The project includes all glass, material, labor, removal, and disposal of the existing glass. Additionally, the project requires tinting of all the exterior facing windows around the building. The goal is to provide a permanent, more durable, impact resistant solution for the facility. Questions Due Date: Mar 31st 2026, 11:00 AM EDT Description of Project Montgomery County Youth Center is asking for a budgetary proposal for full replacement and installation utilizing level 1 bullet resistant glass for 15- 44"x92" windows for the residential common areas and 54- 46"x56" windows for the residential rooms. In addition to the installation of the level 1 bullet resistant glass, we are requiring tinting to be installed to all exterior facing windows at our location. There are approximately 210 windows requiringtinting. The project shall include the cost of all windows, tinting, material, labor and removal of existing windows at 540 Port Indian Road in Norristown, PA. Scope of Work 1. Remove existing windows and install 15- 44"x92" windows, 54- 44"x54" windows composed of level 1 bulletproof glass. In addition to removing the windows, the vendor will be responsible for properly disposing of any windows where applicable. 2. Installation of mirror tint to approximately 210 exterior facing windows of various sizes (listed below). 3. Bidder must have experience in working for counties, municipalities and law enforcement agencies. his is a list of what is required for this Project. Vendor will provide a lump sum bid that encompasses all required time and materials to successfully remove and install. o 15- 44"x92" windows for resident common areas. o Utilizing level or grade 1 bullet resistant glass o 54- 46"x56" windows for resident individual rooms. o Utilizing level or grade 1 bullet resistant glass o In addition, below are the windows to be tinted utilizing mirror tint or equivalent material to obscure someone's ability to see into the facility through the exterior windows.
