Renovation of a residential development in Springfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. This Project consists generally of removal and replacement of existing vinyl tiles, SVF flooring, carpeting and all associated wall bases on 2 tenant occupied floors. The bathroom and lavatory spaces have existing 1" ceramic tiles, generally in good sound condition, which will be overlaid with new skim coat and ALTRO safety SVF (Sheet Vinyl Flooring). New safety flooring will replace existing SVF in the kitchen and existing 6" ceramic tile in the adjacent cooler room. All new safety flooring will require certification for installation. A specified amount of damaged wood floor sheathing and underlayment will need replacement and to match existing. Additional plywood sheathing is specified on a "as needed" basis under Surplus Unit Price Materials. The project will require minor plumbing work, specifically, bathroom floor drain & strainer replacements. Total construction time is 52 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed date to Substantial Completion. The Project consists of Base Bid and One Alternate. The combined work (Base Bid and Alternate No.1) is estimated to cost $119,156.00 Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 44A-J and to prevailing wage rates. THIS PROJECT IS BEING ELECTRONICALLY BID. HARD COPY BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The SPRINGFIELD HOUSING AUTHORITY, (the Owner and Awarding Authority), invites sealed electronic bids from GENERAL CONTRACTORS for the replacement of existing finished flooring with limited subflooring & sheathing located in one 2-story 689-3 Group Residence in Springfield, Massachusetts in accordance with the contract documents distributed by the Owner and the Designer.
