The work consists of hazardous material abatement and complete demolition of 1950's era concrete frame, brick clad university buildings originally constructed as traditional residence halls, including Brigham Hall (basement plus three stories, approximately 8,400 square feet per level), Warner Hall (basement plus four stories, approximately 10,000 square feet per level), and Royce Hall (basement plus three stories, approximately 9,600 square feet per story). Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and distribution lines serving each building will be fully demolished. Campus steam lines serving each building, which are generally configured in a loop around the campus, must be reconfigured to restore continuity of the utilities loop after project completion. The footprint and surrounding site of each building are to be restored to open lawn space after demolition, with some re-grading required for site drainage. All potential bidders must be certified by DOA prior to submitting bids on state construction projects over $100,000. All bids from non-certified contractors will be rejected. Sealed bids must be delivered or electronically submitted using only PDF files before the time specified. The bidder is responsible for ensuring delivery. A single lump sum bid for all work is required. A bid guarantee amounting to 10% of the bid must accompany each submission. Contract offers and construction phase records will be processed electronically. State prevailing wage requirements do not apply. Bidding documents are available online as electronic files.
