The City of Santa Cruz is pleased to announce a request for proposals to provide engineering design services for the South of Laurel Area Plan Lines Project (Project). Proposed professional services include geometric design services consisting of a multi-modal plan line with cross-sections and a technical memo with recommendations. The selected firm will be responsible for developing plan lines, recommendations, and a summary report that ultimately will guide the design for street improvement projects in the South of Laurel area of Downtown Santa Cruz. The new plan lines shall meet the intent of the City of Santa Cruz Downtown Plan Appendix 8: South of Laurel Area while updating the conceptual plan to be a multimodal design with detailed geometric and right-of-way requirements. All existing and relocated utilities must be included in the plan lines. In addition to the South of Laurel Area Plan Lines, this RFP includes two additional optional tasks for a grading and drainage plan in the South of Laurel Area and plan lines on Soquel Drive between Morrissey Boulevard and eastern City limits. The estimated budget for this work is $180,000. There is no federal funding included in the project budget. The City anticipates awarding a contract to a vendor for a 5 year term with the option of five-one (1) year term extensions if City so elects. The Proposer will provide the services outlined in Section PRELIMINARY SCOPE OF WORK. Method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
