Minority Goal 4% Women Goal 13% In general, the work consists of the construction of a 650 SF addition and level 2 alteration of the existing Spooner Ranger Station, creating a Northwest District Dispatch Office. The project includes an accessible toilet room, four dispatch stations and equipment, a kitchenette, a four-person meeting room, and electrical upgrades with an uninterrupted power supply by emergency backup generator. Work will include new HVAC, plumbing, and electrical to the addition and applicable alteration to the level 2 alteration spaces the addition will tie into. Base bids will be received as a single lump sum bid for plumbing, mechanical (heating, ventilating, air conditioning), and electrical. A bid guarantee in the amount of 10% of the bid must accompany each bid submitted. Only certified bidders by the Department of Administration are qualified to submit bids exceeding $100,000. The letting process uses a single prime bidding and contracting approach. The mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP) divisions of work will be bid and awarded first. The lowest, qualified, responsible, certified MEP bidders identified must be included in all general prime contractor bids. General prime contractor bids not including the successful MEP bids will be rejected. The state will contract with the lowest, qualified, responsible, certified general prime contractor, who will then subcontract with the successful MEP bidders.
