Site work and new construction of a pre-engineered storage facility in Portage, Wisconsin. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a pre-engineered storage facility; and for site work for a pre-engineered storage facility.
Limit : I-39/ 90/ 94 LOCATIONS The purpose of this project is to expand and construct new salt sheds for roadway winter maintenance. The need for project is because WisDOT will be expanding the I-39/90/94 interstate and therefore more lane miles will need to be salted, requiring more salt for winter operations. The current salt sheds do not have enough capacity to handle the additional salt needed to adequately maintain the additional lane miles being added by the project. This project will provided site analysis and design for multiple salt sheds and park and ride lots across the SWR. This project will evaluate sites for new or expanded salt shed locations and provided the designs for multiple salt shed facilities. Park and ride locations will be evaluated and designed with this project if the local municipalities agree to maintain them. The Method of Contractor Selection Has Not Been Determined at This Time.
