Site work for a water / sewer project in Chehalis, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Project will include installing approximately 2,780 LF of 8-inch water main, including new fire hydrants, service laterals, meters, and pavement trench restoration. The contractor will be required to pay each employee an amount not less than the State Prevailing Rate of Wage, as specified by Washington State. All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish a satisfactory contract bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Chehalis. The City of Chehalis requires E-Verify compliance on all public works contracts with a contract amount equal to or greater than $1,000, per City Ordinance No. 857-B. Awarded contractors shall have 30 calendar days after the execution of the contract to register and enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Homeland Security E-Verify program. Minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, creed, sex or natural origin in consideration for an award. The City of Chehalis reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive any informality in the bidding and make the award deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Chehalis.
