Site work and paving for a road / highway in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
Sealed proposals are invited for the 2026 Road Reconstruction project at various locations. Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the designated Bid number, title, date and time of bid opening, and the bidder's name and address. Specifications and proposal forms are available from the office of the Purchasing Department. A proposal guaranty in the form of a bid bond, certified check, treasurer's check, or cashier's check from a Massachusetts bank or trust company is required, amounting to five percent (5%) of the bid. A performance and payment bond for the full contract amount is required from the successful bidder. All bidders must submit an Affirmative Action Plan and comply with the City's Equal Employment Opportunity and Anti-Discrimination Program. Minimum wage rates set by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts apply. The awarding authority reserves the right to waive informality, reject any or all proposals, or accept any proposal that is in the best interest of the City of Chicopee. Every request for such an interpretation shall be made in writing by a general bidder designated and addressed and forwarded to Douglas E. Ellis, City Engineer, 115 Baskin Drive, Chicopee, Massachusetts, 01020. Pre-qualification requirements: MassDOT prequalification of contractors, with the class of work as Highway Construction and for an estimated value of $2,498,740.00, is required. Eligibility to submit bids is limited to MassDOT prequalified contractors.
