Bid date change as per Adda 5.The project will develop a new three-bay fire station with four dorm rooms, kitchen, living spaces, and administration areas. Site improvements will consist of new paving for driveways, drive aisles, parking, concrete sidewalks, landscaping, irrigation, trash enclosure, flagpole, and signage. The existing fire station shall remain operational for the duration of construction, with construction phasing required for the demolition of the existing fire station to complete construction of the apparatus bay accessory spaces. Sealed proposals must be received as described in the plans and specifications on file at the Department of Public Works. Proposals must be complete for the entire work, materials, and improvements, unless otherwise indicated. Bidders must possess either a Class A - General Engineering Contractor or Class B - General Building Contractor license at the time of bid and for the duration of the contract. Proposals must be accompanied by cash, cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond for not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount as liquidated damages if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract and necessary documents within ten days of notification. A mandatory pre-bid walk is required. All proposals must be submitted on forms provided by the Public Works Director, sealed, and properly identified. Each bid must separately state prices for each item and the total contract price. No proposals may be withdrawn for 60 days after the bid opening. The County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or parts thereof, and to waive errors or informalities. The project is subject to prevailing wage requirements, compliance monitoring, insurance requirements, and submission of certified payroll records. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed or awarded unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. The DBE Goal is Zero, however the use of DBE firms is encouraged.
