The project is for the renovation of student and public restrooms and the remodel and renovation of locker rooms at Waukee Middle School. The contract will be a single Prime Contract that includes civil, general, mechanical, and electrical work. Bids must be submitted on a lump sum basis, and segregated sub-bids will not be accepted. Bidders are required to obtain bidding documents by deposit, may view documents at designated plan rooms, and must provide a bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid. The successful bidder is required to provide surety Performance and Payment Bonds equal to 100% of the contract sum. A completed Bidder's Status Form must be submitted with the bid. Nonresident bidders must comply with Iowa regulations regarding bid preferences and must provide statements about resident status and any preferences from their home state or country. The award may be made to any responsible bidder offering suitable supplies, equipment, and/or service at the lowest price, taking into consideration quality and the best interest of the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof and to waive informalities as allowed by law. Preference is given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa. Clarifications or modifications of the bid documents will be addressed via Addendum. Bidders can direct correspondence as specified and must return bid documents in usable condition for a deposit refund if not awarded the contract.
