The general nature of the work is as follows: The project site is located east of the Waukee CSD School Administration Building, 560 SE University Avenue, along a proposed section of SE Parkview Crossing Drive. Project includes the grading and paving of approximately 550 linear feet of 31-foot-wide 8-inch PCC pavement with integral curbs, 6-inch modified rock base, subdrains, and 12-inch compacted subgrade. Utility construction includes approximately 460 linear feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer; 670 linear feet of 8-inch watermain; 110 linear feet of storm sewer; and 1100 linear feet of 6-inch subdrains. Also included are a 10-foot by 4-foot precast concrete box culvert, a hydrodynamic separator, pond cleaning, signage, seeding, erosion control, traffic control, and other related work. Each bidder shall accompany the bid with a bid security, in a separate envelope, as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract and will furnish, after award, corporate surety bond(s) acceptable to the owner for faithful performance of the contract in an amount equivalent to 100 percent of the contract amount. Bidders are required to provide a statement regarding their residency status. Contractors may purchase materials, supplies, and equipment for this project exempt from sales tax using a provided exemption certificate. No bid may be withdrawn for 30 days after the scheduled closing time. Bidders shall be prepared to submit performance and payment bonds. Out-of-state bidders shall be prepared to submit an Out-of-State Contractor Bond as required by law. The owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and waive informalities in bidding. Every request for such interpretation should be in writing addressed to Bishop Engineering, at the address hereinbefore given, and to be given consideration must be received at least 7 days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids.
