Demolition, site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Parsippany, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel.
The work involves the demolition and replacement of a 4-foot section of the existing box culvert, repair of the culvert wall at the existing storm drain connections, removal of the asphalt overlay and repair of the culvert top slab, replacement of the concrete island over the culvert, installation of a membrane waterproofing, and reconstruction of the asphalt roadway. New guide rail is to be installed over the structure with new guide rail end terminals. Major estimated quantities include: Hot Mix Asphalt Milling 3" or less (1200 S.Y.), HMA 9.5M64 Surface Course, 3" Thick (200 Tons), HMA 25M64 Base Course, 5" Thick (75 Tons), Temporary Cofferdam (1 LS), Temporary Sheeting (1200 SF), Concrete in Culvert, Structures (8 CY), Reinforcement Steel (2400 LBS), and Tangent Guide Rail Terminals (4 Units). Bids must be submitted enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and labeled "Repair of Sylvan Way Culvert." A certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in the amount of 10% of each bid, not exceeding $20,000.00, is required. Bidders must comply with applicable legal requirements. The Township reserves the right to waive minor immaterial formalities and to reject any and all bids in accordance with law.
