Site work and paving for a water / sewer project in Milton, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work includes paving approximately 500 feet of access road, installation of a six-inch subbase of VTrans Specification 704.06 dense graded crushed stone, and full-depth reclamation of approximately 725 square yards. The roadway is approximately 13 feet wide and will require an estimated 8 tons of Type II asphalt and 61 tons of Type IV asphalt. All work shall be completed in accordance with the Town of Milton Department of Public Works specifications. The Contractor shall perform all work in a safe and workmanlike manner to minimize disruption to residents, traffic, and municipal operations. There will be an onsite preconstruction meeting prior to the project start date. Contractors submitting proposals must demonstrate the experience, technical expertise, and professional capacity necessary to successfully complete roadway paving and rehabilitation projects of a similar size and scope. At minimum, the selected contractor shall have successfully completed at least three projects within the past five years involving roadway paving, reclamation, and gravel subbase installation of similar scope and complexity; provide a list of available equipment and key personnel to be assigned to the project; and be properly licensed to perform work in the State of Vermont and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. All costs incurred in the preparation of a proposal are the responsibility of the consultant. The selected contractor must comply with all applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and permitting requirements. Any contract resulting from this RFP will be subject to the Town's standard procurement and contract provisions.
