The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. The existing Physical Plant building is a 2-story concrete and masonry structure built into a hill with first floor accessed from the south and second floor accessed from the east. The second floor access is via a parking area constructed over concrete caps above Shop rooms (former Coal rooms). The exterior site stair to the south is in disrepair and closed for use. The exterior concrete stair to the north, and connected to the existing Administration building, is also in disrepair and closed for use. The exterior steel kitchen stair at the north side of the existing Administration building is also in disrepair and closed for use. 2. The Project consists of the demolition and replacement of concrete caps and drive paving over the Shop rooms at the Physical Plant, the demolition and replacement of the north connected exterior stairs, and the associated grading, storm drainage work and paving. The existing mechanical cooling tower will be relocated from the second floor east exterior to the first floor south exterior. Additional demolition and replacement of exterior south stair, exterior kitchen stair, paving work and utility tunnel infill is by alternates.
