The scope of work includes the demolition of existing electrical equipment, construction of new concrete pads and conduit, and the installation of electrical equipment and a generator at the Highline Water District Des Moines Treatment Plant site. The contractor is responsible for moving the equipment that has already been procured by the District from storage locations to the project site, offloading, and installing the equipment as well as completing all additional work shown on the plans. All bids must be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a postal money order, certified check, cashier's check, or surety bond for not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount as a guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract if awarded. The successful bidder must provide required surety bonds within ten calendar days after notification of award. Free-of-charge access to project bid documents is provided online and bidders must register on the Builders Exchange website to receive notifications of addenda and be added to the bidders list. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and will accept the bid deemed in its best interest, waiving informalities and possibly delaying the award of the bid for up to sixty days after bid opening. Bidders are required to have their own copies of the Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge, and Municipal Construction, 2025 Edition, prepared by the Washington State Department of Transportation/American Public Works Association.
