The Iowa Department of Administrative Services is seeking bids for tuckpointing repairs at Cherokee Mental Health Institute, Cherokee, Iowa. Bids must be received electronically via IMPACS Electronic Procurement System and be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid amount, in the form of a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check from a solvent bank. The project is exempt from Iowa Sales Tax, and Davis Bacon Wages do not apply. Bidders must comply with all affirmative action and equal employment opportunity requirements of the State of Iowa and the Federal Government. Product substitutions may be considered if written requests are received prior to the bid opening, per Section 01 2500 Substitution Procedures. Attendance at one of the two mandatory pre-bid meetings at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute is required for eligibility to submit a bid. The Iowa Department of Administrative Services reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities. Project Description: Tuckpointing, masonry and stone repairs at CHMHI The project consists of exterior masonry repairs to address deteriorated mortar joints at several buildings on the CHMHI campus in Cherokee, IA. The work primarily includes removal of deteriorated mortar, repointing of masonry joints and brick/stone repairs to restore weather resistance and durability of the existing masonry wall assemblies.
