Site work and paving for a road / highway in Barneveld, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Bid proposals shall be based on lump sum bid information but must include standard prices as indicated. Standard quantities shall be used as the basis for the total contract if additions or reductions are made to the project. The Town Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or remove portions of the project for budgeting or other reasons in the Town's financial or other best interest. Chip sealing work must be performed only when pavement and air temperatures are 60'F or higher and rising, with no rain forecasted before curing. All designated road repair work must be completed by August 1, 2026. Immediately prior to applying asphalt material, the entire existing surface shall be thoroughly cleaned of all loose dust, vegetation, and objectionable material. Surface holes and frost dips shall be hard patched. The proposal must include watering and rolling of gravel roads before seal-coating. Preparation, application, and compaction with a roller shall be for the full width (grass to grass) of the existing road surface along the full length designated and marked by the Town. Contractor must furnish PG 58-28 5% Cutback Liquid Asphalt, blended at a State of Wisconsin and AASHTO certified liquid asphalt production facility, heated to 350'F and applied. Contractor must haul, place, and roll 3/8-inch fractured pea stone cover aggregate from the Town stockpile in Barneveld. Pea stone application rates are 150 tons per mile for single-seal and 240 tons per mile for double-seal. No aggregate waste is allowed; excess application over 15% above specified rates must be supplied at the contractor's expense. All machinery, labor, and other necessary incidentals to clean, sealcoat, and roll various Town roads must be provided. Contractor is responsible for all temporary traffic control. All work will be performed under traffic unless otherwise directed by the Town. Bids must include prices for specified projects and provide standard pricing per mile for both single-seal and double-seal applications and optional supply of cover stone. A warranty of 1 year must be written on the contract. Prior to beginning work, the contractor must submit proof of the required insurance coverage and limits, with the Town named as additional insured. Required insurance includes workers' compensation, commercial liability (minimum $1,000,000), and motor vehicle insurance (minimum $1,000,000 per occurrence combined single limit). The Town reserves the right to require higher or lower limits as needed. Failure to maintain insurance may result in contract termination without notice.
