The City of Groton, Department of Utilities is requesting formal proposals for the transportation and disposal of liquid sewage sludge and scum. Proposals are sought from qualified respondents who can provide transportation and disposal of an estimated 300 dry tons of municipal wastewater sludge per year in a liquid form. The sludge concentration is 3% to 7% solids with up to 4.0% scum by volume. The sludge is generated from the Groton Utilities – Wastewater Treatment Facility located at 311 Thames Street in Groton, Connecticut. Sealed proposals for the work will be received at the office of the Purchasing Agent at 295 Meridian Street, Groton, Connecticut 06340, until 10:00 A.M. on the specified closing date, at which time proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud.
