Site work and paving for a road / highway in Winhall, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The project involves the paving of a section of Old Town Road, Benson Fuller Drive, and Pearl Buck Drive within the Town of Winhall during the 2025 paving year. The work on Old Town Road requires reclaiming and paving approximately 6,864 feet by 24 feet of road, including reclaiming the road at full depth, paving the base and top layers, and placing 2.5 inches compacted of type 2 (3/4") base mix and 1.5 inches compacted of type 4 top mix, both with staggered joints. A tack coat must be placed on the surface. The contractor is responsible for supplying a grader, final re-grading, and rolling upon approval by the Road Foreman. Twenty-two driveways in the area will require 8-foot aprons of specified sizes. The contractor must provide trucking and a shoulder machine and is responsible for compacting the shoulders. The Town will supply the shoulder material, loaded at 64 Old Town Road, and shoulders must be 12 inches wide and completed within two weeks of the paving completion. Proposals will be evaluated based on contractor experience, background, ability to perform the requested services, and price, with cost not being the sole determinant.
