The work consists of furnishing all necessary machinery, equipment, tools, labor, and other construction means, and all materials required to perform widening, plant mix leveling, resurfacing, and striping on various county roads in Sumter County as shown in the project documents. Sealed bids are required and must be clearly marked. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 calendar days after the closing time for receipt of bids. Bids received after the specified time will not be considered and will be rejected. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held. The work must be fully completed within one hundred and fifty (150) consecutive calendar days from the date the Notice to Proceed is given. Payment will be made within thirty (30) days after receipt of each Application for Payment as further outlined in the project documents. Any questions must be directed only by e-mail to the Public Works Director. Project documents with specifications for bidding purposes can be obtained at the Sumter County Board of Commissioners' Office or by email request. All bid forms must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid. The successful bidder, if awarded the contract, will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. All bonds must appear on the Treasury Department's most current Circular 570 Listing, latest edition. Sumter County reserves the right to reject any or all bids for any and all lawful reasons, including nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids and to reject the bid of any bidder whom the County believes would not be in the best interest of the project to make an award to that bidder.
