Paving and renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Sherwood, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 13,000-square-foot playground / park / athletic field.

The work includes cleaning, preparing, and recoating approximately 13,000 square feet of the existing tennis court, removing and replacing four net posts, crackfilling the asphalt surface, and leveling or filling low spots to minimize standing water. Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided with the specifications and be accompanied by a bid bond from a bonding company authorized in Wisconsin in an amount equal to five percent of the proposal, subject to forfeiture as provided by law. Proposals shall not be withdrawn for 30 days after opening. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive informalities. The project involves the repair and recoating of the tennis courts (two total) at Wanick Choute Park in the Village of Sherwood. Detailed scope is provided below, and the Contractor shall include all of the following in their bid: 1. Remove and replace two sets tennis net posts. Provide concrete footing per attached details. 2. Remove and replace two net center tie downs per attached details. 3. Patch asphalt pavement providing suitable surface for court coating system. 4. Provide crack repair with grinding/removal of heaved asphalt surface, and filling of pavement cracks for water tightness with material compatible with court coating system. 5. Provide leveling of and minimization of existing low spots (bird baths). 6. Provide acrylic resin court coating system to match colors of existing coating. System shall include two coats of resurfacer, and two coats of final coating. 7. Provide line striping for two tennis courts and four pickleball courts (same area) to match color of existing court striping. 8. Provide and hang two new tennis nets. 1. COURT COATING/COLOR SYSTEM a. Shall be a system intended for tennis, basketball and pickleball courts on asphalt surfaces. b. Finish Color and Texture i. Shall be 100% acrylic resin (with no vinyl copolymerization constituent) and selected UV inhibitors for color stability, and required color pigments and a minimum of 36.5% solids by weight and solids by weight of 10.0-10.2 lbs/gallon. ii. Color Base shall be 100% acrylic resin containing no vinyl copolymerization constituent, selected UV inhibitors for color stability, not more than 65% rounded silica sand, required color pigments and a minimum of 74% solids by weight and solids by weight of 13.1 to 14.1 lbs/gallon. c. Line Paint i. Shall be 100% acrylic resin containing no alkyds or vinyl constituents. Shall contain selected UV inhibitors for color stability, required color pigments and silica sand for texture. Line paint shall have a minimum of 60.5% solids by weight and solids by weight of 12.0-12.3 lbs/gallon. ii. All surfacing materials shall be non-flammable and shall have a VOC content of not less than 100g/ltr measured by EPA method 24. Local sands are not acceptable as an admixture to the color playing surfaces. LANDSCAPE RESTORATION a. Repair any turf grass areas damaged in the course of work as follows. b. Topsoil salvaged from the project site may be used to restore lawn areas provided that the soil is consisting of loam, sandy loam, silt loam, silty clay loam, or clay loam humus-bearing soils adapted to sustain plant life, and ensure ttheirs topsoil is in a pH range of 6.0 to 7.0. Topsoil to be pulverized and shall be free of rocks, twigs and other foreign material. 100% of the material shall pass a one-inch sieve. c. Furnish starter fertilizer free from phosphorus. Apply per manufacturers recommendations. The Project shall be completed by September 15th, 2026.
