The project entails the removal and replacement of concrete sidewalks and driveway aprons along Blackstone Drive from Willow Drive to Sycamore Drive. All new sidewalks must comply with the Proposed Accessibility Guidelines for Pedestrian Facilities in Public Rights of Way, the 2010 ADA Standard as amended, and the Millcreek Township Code. Restoration is also included. Bids must be submitted with a bid guarantee in the form of a certified or cashier's check or bid bond with corporate surety payable to Millcreek Township in an amount equal to ten percent of the bid price. Contractors must provide a non-refundable deposit of $25.00 as proof of receipt for contract document delivery before the bid opening. Only those who have obtained the Contract Documents are eligible to receive any addenda. Millcreek Township reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities or minor deviations in the bidding. Every request for such an interpretation shall be made in writing to Millcreek Township. Any inquiry received seven (7) or more days prior to the date fixed for opening of Bids will be given consideration Work entails the removal and replacement of concrete sidewalks. Existing sidewalks vary in width, but the new sidewalk is to be 5' wide and 4" thick. In driveway areas, concrete is required to be 6" thick with W1.4 wire. Included in the contract are any driveway adjustments that need to be made. Work also entails the installation of new ADA ramps in locations where they have not previously been located. Any asphalt restoration needed will be incidental to the overall project. Any driveways that are altered will have an apron to the road surface installed. The bid will also include all restoration of lawn areas. Newly installed sidewalks must meet all criteria of the Proposed Accessibility Guidelines for Pedestrian Facilities in Public Rights-of-way, as most recently amended, the 2012 ADA standard as amended and the Millcreek Township Code. Scope: The work covered by this specification consists of furnishing all transportation, material, equipment, labor, storage facilities, services and supervision necessary to complete all work in accordance with the contract documents, drawings, specifications, manufacturer/supplier recommendations and as directed by the Engineer. Any additional work must have advance written approval from the Engineer prior to construction. The Contractor is fully responsible for traffic control, project safety, clean up and restoration.
