Question Deadline 05/08/2026 Every request concerning this project must be addressed to Brian Merk, P.E. at bmerk@preinnewhof.com or 616-364-8491. To be given consideration, questions or comments must be received by addressee at least five (5) calendar days prior to the date fixed for opening of bids. The proposed work includes the removal and replacement of the existing Runway 10-28 asphalt pavement, including restoration, and pavement marking. Bidders must submit evidence of qualification meeting the requirements of General Contract Provisions 20-02. Bidders must secure copies of the contract documents directly from Prein&Newhof, and hard copy drawings and specifications are available for a fee. A bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check payable to the airport sponsor in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total price must accompany each bid. This surety binds the bidder for ninety (90) days after notification of award. If the selected contractor fails to provide the required materials or execute the contract within fifteen (15) days after being furnished with the necessary forms, the proposal guaranty will be forfeited to the sponsor. Each bidder is responsible for a careful examination of the site, proposal, plans, general provisions, technical specifications, contract forms, and all project requirements. The Schoolcraft County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to award the contract to the most responsive and responsible bidder whose bid is determined to be in its best interest.
