This project involves the replacement of the roof at the Serve City Shelter. Said work consists of the removal and replacement of the existing shingled and flat roof on the Serve City shelter. Shingled Roof Replacement: o Preparation: o Install perimeter protection to protect property and landscaping o Remove the existing shingles down to the wood decking o Prepare, replace or re-secure any loose decking to ensure a smooth secure substrate o Evaluate existing substrate prior to installation of new substrate o Roof System Installation: o Install winter guard ice and water membrane along the eaves and valleys o Install synthetic roofing runner underlayment over the balance of the wood decking using self-sealing cap nails o Install new 3"x3" pre-painted metal edging along the gutter line o Install new starter shingles along the rakes and eaves to create a proper seal along the perimeter of the roof o Install new Pipe Flashing & paint coated base plumbing pipe boots o Install new pre-painted step flashing metal at all roof/sidewall areas o Install new shingled-over style filtered ridge ventilation to ensure proper roof ventilation o Install new color matched hip and ridge specific shingles o Install new roof cap exhaust vent with built-in damper o Install new shingles Flat Roof Replacement: o Remove the existing roof and plys down to the roof deck o Remove all flashing adjacent to parapet walls o Remove all non-functioning roof penetrations and repair decking o Evaluate existing substrate prior to installation of new substrate o Mechanically fasten 1/2-inch fiber insulation board to the roof deck o Mechanically fasten RUSS strip at base of all parapet walls o Fully adhered 0.045 TPO membrane to the insulation o Replace existing roof drains with retrofit drains o Install 4-inch pre-caulked seam tape at all laps o Field flash all existing roof penetration with 6-inch elastaform membrane o Install coping metal over parapet walls o Fabricate and install Kynar coated steel L-metal & gravel-stop flashing along perimeter of roof o Strip in metal with 6-inch cover tape o Clean-up: o Run a high-powered nail magnet o Remove all debris from gutters and refasten as necessary o Remove and dispose of all debris to a registered landfill Question Deadline 05/08/2026 Every request for such interpretation should be in writing addressed to the Butler County Commissioners, Butler County Administration Center, 130 High Street, Hamilton, Ohio 45011 and to be given consideration, must be received at least ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids
