The work consists of pavement rehabilitation of various streets within the City of Orinda, including, but not limited to: mobilization, demobilization, temporary traffic control, installation of water pollution control measures, removal and replacement of concrete sidewalk, construction of concrete curb ramps, base failure repair (digout), milling/cold planing, hot mix asphalt (HMA) overlay, microsurfacing, cape seal, adjustment of utility manhole frames and covers, perpetuating survey monuments, adjustment of valve boxes, installation of thermoplastic traffic stripes, thermoplastic pavement markings, blue reflectors, and crosswalks, and other work as shown on the plans and as described in the Caltrans Standard Specifications and Special Provisions to provide a complete project. Contractor must minimize obstruction and inconvenience to property owners, including dust, noise, cleanup, and protection of property. Bids must be made on the issued Bid Proposal, accompanied by a certified cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount, made payable to the order of "City of Orinda." Bids must cover the entire project, including all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and services. No partial or contingent bids are allowed. The successful bidder must furnish a payment bond and a performance bond. The contractor must possess a valid Class A License at the time the contract is awarded and all contractors and subcontractors must be registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the California Labor Code. This contract is subject to state nondiscrimination and compliance requirements.
