Renovation of an educational facility in Shelby, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The scope of work involves the 2026 Roofing Project for Shelby Public Schools. The contract documents include the agreement, general conditions, drawings, and specifications with revisions. The successful bidder, referred to as the Contractor, is responsible for all roofing work as awarded. The Owner is Shelby Public Schools. The Owner’s Representative, who is the representative of the primary material manufacturer, has rights of inspection and authority to ensure proper execution of the contract, including the authority to stop work and reject unsuitable materials. Bidders are required to visit the project site before submitting bids to determine field conditions affecting their work and make allowance for all pertinent items in their bids. All dimensions and elevations related to existing structures or utilities must be field checked and verified by the Contractor before bidding or performing work dependent on such data. Any extra costs resulting from failure to verify site conditions will not be reimbursed by the Owner. The Contractor must also take necessary measures to protect the Owner’s ongoing operations by erecting barriers, tarpaulins, doors, or similar protections while work is in progress, and ensure these are securely closed when not in use.
