Site work for a water / sewer project in Red Bay, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The scope of work is for the "Contract 'A' Natural Gas Cast Iron Replacement Project" and includes the following principal items: 1. Reconnect 52 service lines to the new poly line; 2. Proper abandonment of the existing cast iron main; 3. Proper abandonment of existing stainless steel service lines. Instructions to bidders: The contract will be let under one contract to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. Bids must be received by the specified deadline and location. No bids will be received after the deadline. The successful bidder must furnish a performance bond and a payment bond each for 100% of the bid amount from a bonding company’s representative or agent in the State of Alabama. No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening bids has passed. The owner reserves the right to hold bids for 60 days after receipt. The contract time is 60 consecutive calendar days and must be strictly observed; liquidated damages will be assessed for exceeding contract time. The owner may reject any or all bids, waive informalities, or accept any bid considered advantageous. Bidders may inspect plans and documents at the owner's office or obtain them from the engineers for a fee. A pre-bid meeting will be held but is not mandatory.
