Utilities Kingston is seeking a qualified consultant to provide riverbed and pipeline monitoring services across the Cataraqui River. Approximately 1km of HDPE infrastructure, consisting of one watermain and two sanitary forcemains, was installed in a common trench in the early 2000s and has experienced historical buoyancy-related events. Following a 2021 buoyancy assessment, ongoing monitoring was recommended to track riverbed evolution and pipeline profile changes. The scope includes repeatable high-resolution surveys, assessment of pipeline depth of cover and exposure, sub-bottom characterization, and delivery of accurate, georeferenced datasets with professional interpretation to support long-term asset management and risk-based decision making.
