Reference Number 0000424596 The District is a Colorado water and sanitation special district providing treated drinking water to 19,000 customers within Steamboat Springs. In conjunction with the City of Steamboat Springs, the District own and operate two municipal water treatment plants. The Fish Creek Water Treatment Plant with a permitted capacity of 7.5 million gallons per day (MGD) and the Yampa Wells Water Treatment Plant with a permitted capacity of 3.5 MGD. Both facilities are regulated under the Colorado Primary Drinking Water Regulations (5 CCR 1002-11) administered by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Water Quality Control Division (WQCD). Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals were originally prepared for each plant in 2001 (Fish Creek) and 2018 (Yampa Wells). Since that time, significant process modifications, equipment replacements, and regulatory changes have occurred that necessitate a comprehensive update to both manuals.
