Site work and new construction of a laboratory facility in Institute, West Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 44,513-square-foot, two-story above grade laboratory facility.

Project no-860917.000 Construction Management at Risk (CMAR) Request for Proposals for the West Virginia State University Agricultural Laboratory. Project Scope The project consists of a multi-level building with an enclosed mechanical penthouse totaling approximately 45,000 gross square feet, including approximately 21,500 assignable square feet of laboratory, teaching, and collaboration space. The facility will require high-performance building systems, complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) infrastructure, specialty laboratory systems, and full commissioning. The building program includes: wet and dry teaching laboratories; food analysis and microbiology laboratories; food processing and product development space; agricultural and natural resources instructional laboratories; cybersecurity teaching and research space; and WVDA analytical laboratories for Agricultural Nutrition and Quality and PFAS/Chemical Residue testing. The project site encompasses approximately 2.75 acres (120,000 square feet) bounded by Avenue A, Barron Drive, and Fairlawn Avenue. Site work will include grading across approximately 17 feet of elevation change, utility modifications and extensions, access drives, pedestrian connectivity to campus, loading dock and service yard development, screening walls and gates, and modifications to existing parking and circulation. The service yard will accommodate an emergency generator, transformer, mechanical units, and staging for WVDA mobile training units.
