The City of Meriden's Parks & Recreation Department is soliciting bids to refurbish the Pool Filtration System for the community pool located in Hubbard Park, 999 West Main Street, Meriden. Question Submission Deadline:June 11, 2026, 4:00pm Pressure Test suction, return, & main drain lines. Report & verify results with Parks Department staff. o Cut out/remove existing filter system & piping. o Furnish & install new main drain sumps into the pool structure connected to new 10" sch 40 PVC main drain piping. Main drains & piping to be hydraulically balanced with 10' tees & required piping manifolds. Line velocity to be no more than 4'/second. o Furnish & install new 8" sch PVC wall inlets/returns piping to pool structure. Line velocity to not exceed 6'/second. o Furnish & install new pump & strainer with requirements of 680 gpm. o Furnish & install new high pressure sand horizontal filters to be meet the 680 gpm requirement. Filter face piping to be manual linkage with complete flow control. Face piping to be sch 40. Filters can be either stainless steel or fiberglass. o All valves to be Bray with flanges & stainless steel stems. o Connect new perimeter piping to existing perimeter piping with proper valves & isolation. New system to have the capability to isolate between existing piping & new piping. o Reconnect sanitation system to both new & existing piping. o Label piping. o Repair/replace any deck or pool structural removals necessary to complete installation. o Obtain State of CT DPH permit for new code compliant structural fittings and filter system. o Instruct Parks Department staff on system operation after installation
