Description

Renovation of a military facility in Holland, Michigan. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a military facility.

Rehabilitation of approximately 515 feet of the Holland North Revetment, including Sections C, D, and E, to address deterioration and improve structural integrity. Work includes increasing the elevation of the bulkhead and concrete walkway to reduce wave overtopping and erosion, and to align with the adjacent NOAA Gauge House. Existing aging structures, consisting of timber cribs and Wakefield walls encapsulated with steel sheet piling, will be remediated by installing a new anchored steel sheet pile bulkhead on the landward side of the existing wall. The design incorporates an NZ 26 front wall, an NZ 19 anchor wall, construction of a new 10-foot-wide pile-supported concrete walkway, and installation of new pipe railings to complete the improvements. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
