The project is for the replacement of Elkhart Bridge No. 347. Bids must be properly and completely executed on proposal forms provided by the County, including an itemized proposal of the approximate quantities and components of labor and materials to complete the contract. Proposals must be on the standard bid sheets, with an authorized contractor signature, and submitted as the first page of the submittal. Each bid must also include a non-collusion affidavit and be enclosed in a sealed envelope with the project title and bidder information. Bids must be accompanied by a satisfactory bid bond (10% of bid), and all work must comply with the plans and specifications referenced. Delays beyond the completion date will result in liquidated damages. The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive informalities in the bidding process. Pre-qualification requirements: Bids will only be accepted from bidders who are sufficiently and currently pre-qualified by the Indiana Department of Transportation. Proof of pre-qualification must be submitted with the bid. A current Contractor's Financial Statement taken from Form 96 and the Indiana Department of Transportation prequalification certificate may be placed on file with the Board of County Commissioners of Elkhart County at the Highway Division annually in lieu of executing these documents for each project.
