This project involves mechanical equipment and plumbing equipment work to be performed at East View Terrace, Sembower Terrace, and Scattered Sites. The mechanical work includes removing and replacing boilers and forced air units. The plumbing work includes removing and replacing hot water tanks, expansion tanks, valves, and drip pans. Work is to be performed per schedules included on the Plans and detailed in the Specifications. Separate bids are to be submitted for Mechanical and Plumbing Construction; combined bids will not be accepted. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, or bank cashier's check in the amount of ten percent of the bid amount. Bidders are urged to visit the sites to inspect the work locations. Bids should be addressed to the Fayette County Housing Authority and envelopes must be sealed and clearly marked with the Project Title, Contract Number, and Date and Time for receipt of bids. The Fayette County Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities in bidding. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty days without the consent of the Authority. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond. Contractors must ensure non-discrimination regarding employment practices. Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) participation is encouraged, and compliance with the Authority's MBE Program Goal requirements is required where applicable.
