This project involves mechanical equipment and building exterior/site work at East View Terrace, Sembower Terrace, and Scattered Sites. The work includes general construction tasks such as parking lot sealing and line striping, removing and replacing concrete sidewalks and porches, removing retaining walls, replacing storm pipe, installing new concrete ramps, repairing and repainting concrete block walls and foundations, replacing shed and mechanical room doors, repairing and wrapping columns, and removing and replacing roof shingles. Mechanical work involves removing and replacing boilers and forced air units. Electrical work includes removing and replacing exterior GFCI outlets and covers, and installing mechanical room light fixtures. Plumbing work involves removing and replacing hot water tanks, expansion tanks, valves, and drip pans. Work must be performed per schedules included on the plans and detailed in the specifications. Separate bids will be received for General, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Construction. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, or bank cashier's check payable to the Fayette County Housing Authority in the amount of ten percent of the bid amount. All prospective bidders are urged to physically visit the sites. Bids shall be addressed to the Fayette County Housing Authority, envelopes containing bids shall be sealed and clearly marked with "Sealed Bid," the "Project Title," "Contract Number," and "Date and Time" for receipt of bids. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond. The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or age. Bidders will be required to comply with the Authority's MBE Program Goal requirements where applicable.
