The City of Manistee has approved a $59,500 contract with Robinson Iron to refurbish the 26-year-old ornamental fountain located at the west end of River Street. The project will involve removal of the existing fountain for renovation work, addressing structural wear, leaks, and mechanical failures. The refurbishment will include upgrades to the ironwork and installation of modern systems such as water softening and chemical treatment to improve maintenance efficiency and operational performance. The work is being coordinated alongside a broader park improvement initiative led by the Manistee County Community Foundation, which includes upgrades to the surrounding basin, landscaping, seating, and amenities.
