Stanislaus County Public Works is the lead agency for the Milton Road over Hoods Creek Bridge Replacement project and is soliciting proposals from qualified consultants for the proposed work identified in the project description and scope of work in this request for proposals. The selection committee will evaluate all proposals submitted. The selection considerations for evaluating the proposal are included in this request following the "Proposal Requirements." EXISTING STATE BRIDGE No. 38C-0232 NEW BRIDGE No. 38C0367 The existing Milton Road Bridge over Hood Creek is a 123-foot long six span slab bridge built in 1931 that is now considered functionally obsolete by Caltrans under the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) prescribed inspection criteria. The Project is needed to meet current structural design standards to provide improved safety and operations on the facility. The Project will include replacement of the existing bridge with a new two-lane cast-inplace slab bridge on the same existing alignment. No detours or road closures of Milton Road will be used, instead a temporary shoe fly road will be built to the west side of the existing bridge. In addition, due to Hood Creek having both summertime and wintertime flows, a temporary creek diversion system is required within the shoe fly.. The new bridge will have two spans over Hood Creek with the center pier made of 24-inch diameter CISS piles .
