Roadway improvement project consisting of 8,150 SY Bituminous Wearing Course 9.5 MM Mix, 4,150 SY Bituminous Binder Course 19 MM Mix, 1,810 SY of Type 3 2A Aggregate Shoulder and related work. Bonds: 10% Bid Bond, Certified Check required. DESCRIPTION - This work consists of the placement of aggregate material on aggregate shoulders to back-up asphalt pavement. MATERIALS Aggregate Base Section 350.2 CONSTRUCTION - As shown on the drawings and as follows: Furnish and place required aggregate on aggregate shoulders to the dimensions necessary. Shape shoulder and compact with rollers meeting the requirements of Section 108. Satisfactory compaction will be determined based on non-movement of the material under the compaction equipment. The Contractor shall apply Emulsified Asphalt, AE-P at of rate of 0.35 gallons per square yard to the aggregate shoulders. The Contractor shall insure positive flow of drainage so that no ponding of storm water shall occur. All dimensions and existing conditions shall be checked and verified by the Contractor in the field, prior to beginning construction.
