Site work and renovation of a library in Palmerton, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library; and for site work for a library.
The nature of this project is essentially masonry restoration, repointing and basic reconstruction where required. Exterior windows, doors, trim, hardware and transoms are existing. Masonry Scope of Work The masonry façade faces masonry deterioration and failure to various extents, along with water penetration at multiple areas. Parapet walls, flashing and masonry joints are deficient in several ways. Continued water infiltration jeopardizes the integrity of the exterior wall. The deteriorated masonry, inadequate/non-existent flashing, open mortar joints, and failed sealant joints are allowing excessive amounts of water into the exterior wall assembly. Scope of Work shall be as outlined in Report from Pilot Phase. All work shall be compliant with Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties with Guidelines for Preserving, Rehabilitating, Restoring and Reconstructing Historic Buildings. Every request for such an interpretation shall be made in writing to the Owner. Any inquiry received seven or more days prior to the date fixed for opening of Bids will be given consideration. Masonry repairs to the North and West Walls and parapet improvements to the South Wall of the existing library building. Bonds: 10% Bid Bond, Certified Check required, 100% Performance Bond, 100% Payment Bond.
