Description

Demolition and site work for a water / sewer project in Cherokee, Iowa. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project.

Demolition and disposal of two water storage buildings including basements, ground restoration, site filling, seeding, traffic control, and erosion control measures. The selected contractor shall be responsible for, and their lump sum bid shall include the following work and all related work as outlined in this request for bids. The individual tasks are as follows: Demolition and removal of two water storage buildings. Both buildings have basements. Removal must be to a qualified and licensed sanitary disposal site. Restoration of the ground area including the filling of the area to meet City specifications and seeding of the area. o Related traffic control. Proper actions to prevent unwanted runoff of soil, debris, and other materials from the project site to public land including the right-of-way. This includes prevention during the demolition work and after the demolition. The intent of this item is not to require monitoring and maintenance on behalf of the contractor beyond the completion of the project. The contractor should install proper controls to prevent future run off but long-term maintenance is not required.
